Why I Will Never Give Up My Foley Food and Wine Society Membership
Foley Estates has their own wine club, of course. And their wines can be on the pricier side—world class Pinot Noir is difficult to make because the skins of these grapes are prone to splitting (and therefore rotting) before they can be made into fine wine. But the Foley Food and Wine Society is different from your average wine club. By my count they have 17 affiliated wineries under the Society umbrella and this means that you can taste at any of them for free. Membership allows you to change the winery for your shipments as well.Foley Society winery properties are primarily situated in Napa, Sonoma, and the Central Coast. On a recent trip to the Central Coast my wife and I tasted at EOS, Firestone, Lincourt and the Foley Food and Wine Society Tasting Room at the Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara, all for free. On another trip to Sonoma we utilized our membership to taste at Chalk Hill, Sebastiani and Roth Estate.

Membership also provides lodging opportunities that offer discounts. My wife and I stayed with another couple on the vineyard property at EOS last July. The benefits of that location deserves its own blog post, but let me just say…it was great to have the vineyard to ourselves.
Membership earns points for every dollar you spend and you can use these points towards wine purchases and various “experiences.”
Dedicated to the “luxury lifestyle” there are plenty of prospects to live it up: golf courses, horseback riding, atv’s, fishing and skiing opportunities. Members can attend events like private reserve barrel tastings and blending seminars, for example. This is a membership I highly recommend. Whether you are simply interested in maximizing the free tastings and lodging discounts, or customizing private events in spectacular locations with renowned wine industry professionals, there is much to explore and take advantage of with the Foley Food and Wine Society.
